Status Categories (or Task Statuses) define the workflow stages for the tasks in your Worklist. ButtonShift organizes all task statuses under three broad classifications: Not Started, In Progress, and Completed. The default statuses under these categories are typically To Do, In Progress, and Done.
Setting Up Task Statuses
You can customize your Task Statuses at two different stages: during the initial Worklist creation or on an existing Worklist.
A. At the Worklist Creation Stage
- Start the process of creating a new Worklist.
- Expand the More details section of the creation pop-up.
- Under the Task Statuses section, each category (Not Started, In Progress, Completed) will have a + Add New option.
- Click + Add New under the desired category and type the name of your new status.
B. On an Existing Worklist
- Open the desired Worklist from your workspace.
- Look to the right-most side of the existing statuses and click + Add new status.
- A pop-up will appear where you can select the parent category and define the new status name.

Editing and Ordering Statuses
- To Update a Status: Click on the 3 vertical dots beside the desired status and select Edit. You have options to change the status name, change its color, and change the parent category.
- To Reorder Statuses: Any new status created will initially appear on the right-most end of the statuses. You can easily drag and reposition the status column to your desired placement within the workflow.
